Configuring Built Payments

Before sending payments, complete Built Payments setup. In this lesson, you’ll connect your business bank account, verify your organization, and enable approval workflows. Built uses Plaid for secure, instant verification.

What you’ll learn:

• How to verify your business and authorized user details.
• How to securely connect your bank account using Plaid or manual verification.
• How to configure approval workflows for payment control.

1. Click the gear icon ⚙️ in the top menu.
2. Open Payments in the sidebar and select Start Verification.
3. Complete business and authorized user verification (legal name, EIN, address, photo ID, etc.).
4. Connect bank account:
   • Use Plaid for instant connection or add manually (via micro-deposits).
   • Add multiple accounts with + Add New Bank Account.

Digital payments are free for payors and payees — no ACH or processing fees.

1. Finish verification before sending payments.
2. Add all accounts used for different projects.
3. Set up approval workflows for large transactions.
