Making your job easier is what we’re here to do, and this release gives lenders several new ways to leave workarounds behind. From tax credit paydowns to borrower messaging to covenant setup, more of the work around your loans now runs inside Built, so your team can move more efficiently. Here’s what’s new.

Funding Source Reallocation: Change the Capital Stack Without Unwinding History

A participant exits, a new bank comes in, or a syndicate needs resizing mid-deal. Make the change in one workflow, in dollars or percentages. Funded and repaid balances shift automatically, and every reallocation is recorded as a transaction. Built for deals with Participation or Syndicated Sources.

Negative Sources & Paydown Execution: Keep Sources Equal to Uses

Model a Paydown as a negative Source in the Sources & Uses grid, then execute it inside a draw, such as LIHTC equity paying down a construction loan. Funded to Date and Remaining to Fund update automatically, so Sources and Uses stay in balance, and the draw package shows the paydown as a negative line your team already knows how to read.

Message Center: One Thread on the Draw

Lenders and sponsored borrowers can now message directly on a draw in the Sponsored Borrower Portal. Conversation and revision requests share one thread, so both sides see the full context, and lender-only notes stay private in a separate Internal tab. New activity sends an email and an in-app alert linking back to the draw.

Draw Agent Compliance Override & Audit Trail: Keep Moving, Keep the Record

When the Draw Agent flags a blocking issue, approvers can mark it Resolved or Not applicable and add a decision comment. The original flag stays visible, every decision is logged for compliance review, and the explanation lives on the draw, not in a side thread.

Home Builder Finance Enhancements: Spec Limits That Warn You in Real Time

Enter progress in dollars with Total Cost Incurred to Date, and Built calculates draw availability for you. A new spec-to-pre-sold sublimit (for example, no more than one spec for every four pre-sold units) is enforced at the subdivision and agreement level, with real-time warnings as you approach or exceed the limit. Draw review, calculation, and save times are also faster, so high-volume portfolios stay in the system.

Task Management for Origination: The Right Task, Right When the Deal Needs It

When a deal is missing data it needs, Built surfaces the task to the right person, links straight to the field, and completes the task once the data is in. When a deal moves into a new stage like Closing, the right checklist applies itself, with the right assignees and due dates. Task counts now show on the deal card in Portfolio, so originators, analysts, and underwriters can see what’s outstanding without opening each deal.

AI Covenant Extractions: Start From a Draft, Not a Blank Form

Upload a signed loan agreement and Built proposes the covenants inside it, each with a confidence score and the source page. Your team reviews and saves, so there’s no retyping terms from a PDF, and nothing is added to the deal until a person has reviewed it.
