Built for Construction Financials October ‘26 Release

Recap: Less Manual Work, More Time For What Matters
Job Cost Agent: From Pay App to Payables Ready for Review
Your pay app arrives as one PDF: invoices, lien waivers, and backup, all stacked together. Starting with this release, Built does the prep work. The new Job Cost Agent splits the package, classifies each document, pulls out the payable details, and routes everything to the right Project and Commitment. Your team reviews the results, resolves exceptions, and approves. The hours you used to spend separating and keying in line items go back to you.
The agent assigns budget codes and matches lien waivers as it goes. It also reconciles line item totals and flags discrepancies, so problems surface before they reach approval. A payables clerk gets a queue of payables to review instead of a pile of PDFs to break apart, and a controller gets fewer surprises at month end.
Commitment Agent: Upload the Contract, Skip the Retyping
Nobody should have to type out a full Schedule of Values by hand. Now, when you upload a contract or subcontract, Built extracts the line items into a Draft Commitment. The extracted amounts are checked against the total contract value, and anything that doesn’t add up gets flagged before the Commitment goes active.
Have a subcontractor list? Upload it and prepare multiple Trade Partner Commitments at once. Your team still makes the final call, but with a big head start thanks to the agent’s work.
Portfolio Payables Inbox: One Address for the Whole Portfolio
Vendors working across a dozen jobs shouldn’t need a dozen email addresses for each project. The Portfolio Payables Inbox gives your organization one customizable address for incoming invoices, with every submission reviewed in one place.
Not sure which Project an invoice belongs to yet? Leave it unassigned and move it into the right workflow once you know. Existing Project inboxes still work, so your vendors don’t have to relearn anything.
Custom Payable Requirements: Your Checklist, Built Into the Workflow
Every project has its own paperwork, and a standard checklist never quite fits. You can now set up custom Payable requirement types for documents like change order logs, cost reports, and other lender-required materials.
Decide when each one applies, through Project Settings or templates. Map them to Draw Workflow requirements, and documents collected at the payable stage count toward draw compliance. No chasing the same document twice or using secondary payable checklists.
Construction Financials In-App Reporting: The Reports You Need, Without Rebuilding Them
Pulling the latest Change Order Log shouldn’t mean rebuilding it in Excel. You can now download Change Order Logs directly from Project or Commitment views as Excel or PDF.
Project Budget Reports export in either format too, with your current columns or all of them. Whether it’s a lender package, a team update, or your own records, the numbers are ready to go.
